Heal Through Jesus
OCD

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often misunderstood. While some may see it as an "anxiety disorder," it can be more accurately described as a spiritual wound that needs healing. OCD causes uncontrollable intrusive thoughts and urges that can deeply distress a person, leading to exhaustion and depression. It can feel like a form of cruel torture. However, with faith in God, anything can be healed. After all, Jesus revived a dead man! God is all-knowing and all-powerful. Nothing escapes His wisdom, and with His help, OCD can be seen as nothing more than a wound in a person's heart that needs healing.
Now that we have clarified that OCD is an issue of the heart and not just the mind, we can proceed. OCD sufferers experience intrusive thoughts that vary widely, such as thoughts of harm, guilt, shame, humiliation, and more. The specific "theme" of these thoughts is insignificant. Whether you fear harming someone, having perverse thoughts, accidentally humiliating yourself, or being unable to stop noticing bodily sensations, remember that NOTHING is bigger than GOD.
I have personally struggled with multiple OCD themes and am here to testify that God fought my battles valiantly
There have been ample misconceptions about OCD that I want to clarify. All things termed as "mental disorders" in the worldly sense are nothing but spiritual afflictions. This means there is an unhealed wound in a person's heart causing disturbance in their mind. Yes, Jesus revealed to me that all issues of the mind stem from the heart, and the good news is that Jesus will mend your broken heart if you surrender it to Him.
There is also another grave misconception that OCD cannot be healed. This is absolutely WRONG! Anyone can be healed of OCD, all they need to do is have confidence in GOD.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

You must be extremely curious by now to know how I recovered from OCD. I believe God will do the same for you, as you're no different!
Step 1: Surrender Your Battle to God
Just like with any other problem, the first step is to surrender your battle to God. This involves giving your struggles and worries to Him, trusting that He will provide the healing and strength you need. You can read more about this process in the depression article.
Secondly, you might have to sit and pray multiple times to God asking him to "reveal" the wounds in your heart. The keyword here is reveal. Once God reveals your root cause, pray pray and pray everyday to God to bind your wounds with Jesus's help.

You will have to repent of your sins. However, Christians who struggle with religious scrupulosity OCD should not take this literally. Prayer is about intuition and connection, not duty. If you find yourself compulsively praying to God for a miracle, He is telling you to rest. Trust Him and rest under His safe wing as He takes His time with you. If you are worried about how much to do and how much not to do, trust yourself! Your heart knows better than your mind; let it flow.

After you have repented of your sins, you clear up space for the Holy Spirit to enter you. With the Holy Spirit, you become stronger and more discerning about navigating your journey. The more you trust God, the more you learn to discern, and the less you feel compelled to engage in compulsions. If you find it difficult to trust God, just DECIDE to do it. Make up your mind and say, "Alright, it might be a bit of a risk to me right now, but I have nothing to lose. Jesus, I trust in YOU!" Faith is about believing without seeing! God has placed you in this position to see how boldly you can trust Him.

Start Deliverance. Now, everyone is different; some people might recover from OCD through deliverance, while others might need to take a longer walk with the Lord as He strengthens them spiritually. Some may experience miraculous healing. Expect the unexpected! God will heal you in His own creative fashion. You will need to set aside time each day to cry out to God and pray. During this time, when you are your true, raw self, you might start to feel tingling, sweating, crying, yawning, burping, etc. These are signs of deliverance. The Lord is destroying the strongholds of the Devil.
The Lord will keep you from being compulsive about deliverance if you believe in Him. Keep praying. Pray the rosary and pray fervently. Watch sermons that the Holy Spirit guides you to, and read articles and the Bible as the Holy Spirit leads you. Again, don't overanalyze your feelings; go with the flow. God will rescue you if you become too compulsive in any area. Trust in His guidance and continue to seek His presence.
It took me nearly 8 months to recover from OCD, but every day the Lord guided me with His beauty and His word. He continually placed people in my life to support and heal me. The greatest struggle for OCD sufferers often revolves around self-love and nurturing. Before focusing intensely on strengthening your faith, address any obstacles to believing in God's love for you.
God's love is the antidote to OCD. Once we truly grasp the concept of Christ's sacrifice for us and God's unconditional love, we begin to witness His power working in our lives. This understanding takes time, so be patient and relax as God reveals His love to you. All you need to do is believe!
